Questions people usually ask first
Everything below is how I actually work — nothing here asks you to believe anything in advance.
What actually happens in a session?
You stay fully clothed and lie down on a treatment table. We talk for a few minutes first, then the room goes quiet — soft music, dim light — and I work through a sequence of hand positions for about an hour. Afterwards we sit with tea for a while and you can say as much or as little as you like.
Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?
No. Belief is not a prerequisite, and I would rather you stay curious than convinced. Most people arrive sceptical. Come, rest, and see what you notice — that is the only test that matters.
Is it hands-on, or hands-off?
Either. I usually work with a light resting touch on the shoulders, head and feet, and hover above the body elsewhere. If you prefer no physical contact at all, say so beforehand and the whole session is done hands-off — it changes nothing about the work.
What might I feel?
Commonly: warmth, a heaviness in the limbs, tingling, the body twitching as it lets go, or simply falling asleep. Occasionally emotion surfaces. Sometimes people feel nothing during the session at all and notice the difference the next day. All of these are ordinary.
How many sessions will I need?
One is enough to know whether it suits you. For something you have carried a long time, three or four sessions spaced a week or two apart tend to do more than one. I do not sell packages and I will never tell you that you need to keep coming.
Is it safe alongside medical treatment?
Yes — Reiki does not interfere with medication or treatment, and people often use it during recovery or through difficult treatment. It is not a substitute for medical care, and I do not diagnose or advise you to stop anything your doctor has prescribed.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable clothes you can lie down in — that is all. Come a little hungry rather than very full, and leave enough time afterwards that you are not rushing straight into something.
Can Reiki be done at a distance?
Yes. Distance sessions are held at an agreed time while you rest at home, and we speak briefly before and after by call. People who have tried both often find them surprisingly similar.
Where are you, and how do I book?
I practise from a quiet room in Singapore; the exact address is shared once a time is confirmed. Write to me through the contact form and I will reply with what is available.
Who can learn Reiki?
Anyone. No background, no prior energy work, no particular belief system. Level 1 is for treating yourself and the people close to you; Level 2 adds distance work and a deeper practice.
What happens in a workshop?
A small group, one long day per level, with attunements, plenty of hands-on practice, and a manual to take home. You leave able to practise on yourself that same evening.
Do I have to keep studying after Level 1?
Not at all. Many people stay at Level 1 for years and use it quietly at home. Level 2 is there when — and only if — you want it.
