Ten years in finance, and a longer practice in stillness
How I came to Reiki, and why I now teach it.
My journey into healing began long before I discovered Reiki
Ten years in Singapore’s financial industry, and more than a decade of meditation alongside it. Meditation made me sensitive to energy; Reiki gave me a way to work with it. Follow the path below.
Meditation slowly made me sensitive to energy, and to how emotion moves through the body.
My long-standing headaches eased, and the friends I practised on noticed changes too.
I left ten years in finance to practise Reiki, and to support my mother through her treatment.
I now teach Level 1 and Level 2 in Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu.

For ten years I worked in Singapore’s financial industry. It was a life built on analysis, forecasts and control — and for much of it I was tired in a way that sleep did not fix.
Meditation came first. I began in 2012, without any spiritual ambition; I simply wanted to be less at the mercy of my own mind. Sitting quietly every day changed what I could notice. Over the years I became sensitive to energy — my own, and other people’s — and to the way emotion settles and moves in the body long before we can put words to it.
In 2023 I began learning Reiki. Meditation had made me sensitive to energy; Reiki gave me a way to work with it. The first thing I noticed was in my own body: headaches I had carried for years began to ease. Then friends I practised on started telling me what they had felt — warmth, a current behind the knees, pain that quietly lifted — without my prompting them.
In 2024 I left finance. Part of that decision was practical: my mother was going through treatment, and I wanted to be able to care for her — with my hands, with my attention, and with the energy I had learned to hold. Part of it was simpler. The work had become the thing I most wanted to do with my days.
Today I practise in Singapore and teach Reiki Level 1 and Level 2 here and in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu. I ask nothing of the people who come to me — no belief, no vocabulary, no particular openness. Lie down, rest, and notice what you feel. That is the whole invitation.
